1973 Mini Clubman

The owner of this 1973 Mini Clubman provided us with a very simple brief in the form of a photograph taken of the car when it was just 6 months old. We were tasked with returning the vehicle to the same condition as in that 1973 photo.

The body was in a pretty sad state requiring new front floors, inner and outer sills, boot floor, lower rear panel, rear valance, door skins and a variety of localised repairs including some nasty roof rust.

Suspension parts were refurbished where possible. Engine required a full overhaul of short block and cylinder head.

Interior trim was refurbished. Seats and door cards received a fresh coat of vinyl spray to freshened up the colour and new carpets fitted.

On collection the owner was delighted with the final result. She also commented on how well the door shut and aligned with the body. Apparently the passenger door had never closed properly from new!
